Special Interest Group on Socio-Environmental Research

Environmental exposures and social conditions jointly influence health outcomes, yet they are often examined in isolation. The Special Interest Group (SIG) on Socio-Environmental Research aims to bring together researchers investigating these interactions through rigorous scientific inquiry and methodological innovation.

This SIG will:

1. Establish a collaborative network for ISEE members studying the interplay between environmental exposures and social determinants of health.
2. Advance methodological approaches for assessing and modeling the combined effects of environmental exposures and social stressors on health outcomes.
3. Promote translational research to inform interventions and policy applications at local, national, and global levels.

ISEE members across disciplines are encouraged to join. If you are interested, please reach out to Rachit Sharma (drrachitsharma09[at]gmail[dot]com) or Jane E Clougherty (jec373[at]drexel[dot]edu).
